A D definitely should have gotten that loose ball. Yes Gil should have stayed with his man, but that play doesn’t exist if Daniels hustles and grabs the loose ball that he was closest to. He was clearly being lazy and gilbert is a great defender, his man made a very tough shot.

You're right...the game was not lost on one play.

But I'm really not sure how you can fault AD more. The ball, in going over his head, seemed like it was really hard to track. I'm sure that if he knew Sessions was coming from the side, he would have laid his body on the line...do anything....to keep Ramon from getting the rock.

Plain in simple:

Would you rather take you chances with HAYwood guarding Bogut 1-on-1 with the ball in his hands, back to the basket, and 1.1 seconds left....AND Gil staying tight with his man....

.....OR would you rather Gil leave his man open in the corner to go double Bogut, making an already tough shot just a little more impossible?

That's what I suspected.

Gilbert Arenas has a lengthy history of bad defense....and that's why I'm hard on him.

Okay get off Gil’s back, the game was not lost because of him. I f anyone is to blame it is Antonio Daniels he should have gotten to that loose ball. He was being lazy in the last minute of the game when we were up by one point. Not to mention fighting for a better playoff spot.

I agree pretty much on all of that, think the players and EJ made some bad decisions last night and losing games like that is what may have us facing detroit or worse in the first round of the playoffs.

I see your point....but I still think Gilbert missed the assignment. Of course, it was a bang-bang play...much easier to asses after seeing multiple replays. But with Bogut's back to the basket, there wasn't much he could do aside from pass. Sessions being the closest target, it seemed like a play Milwaukee ran to perfection.

I may not be so hard on Gil today as I was last night.....you're right....Eddie Jordan did put Gil in a tough position, that being his first game back.

Eddie took Arenas out for defensive purposes after he made the two FTs...so why was he in the game at the end?

Yea, yea...Stevenson and Jamison were hurt and were replaced by Gil & D-Mac (joined Haywood, AD and Butler on the floor).

Would Roger Mason Jr. have been the better option? If it weren't for it being Gilbert's 1st game back, from injury, it'd be a definitive 'no' from me.

However, we can point to many other plays as the Wiz let Milwaukee hang around for too long. A play that sticks out is when Gil went to the ground for a loose ball with 2:22 left and then threw it away instead of calling timeout. That resulted in a 3-point play for the Bucks....cutting the Wiz lead to 1.

I don’t think that’s fair, Agent Zero was working the double team on Bogut. EJ put him on that side closest to the inbounds and I’m sure he told them to get to the ball in the paint, make them tick off the clock, and don’t foul. I’m sure he also told them to worry more about Bogut than Ramon F’ing Sessions. Bogut just made a great play and sessions finished it off. Not the best defense imaginable, but probably not all Gil’s fault either.
