Wizards vs. Pistons: 07-08 Game History
I meant to get this post up before last night’s loss against the Pistons…..oh well….here’s to remembering last year’s Wizards history against the Pistons.
Wizards vs. Pistons in DC – January 2, 2008
Richard Hamilton had a rare flirtation with a triple-double (20 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds). The Pistons won 106-93…the big statistical difference was that Detroit went 11-22 from long distance.
In other news: The Wizards tried to establish themselves inside early. Andray Blatche committed a flagrant foul on Jarvis Hayes in the 2nd. Overall, Blatche was listless.
Wizards vs. Pistons in DC – March 23, 2008
Antawn Jamison came through with one of his double-doubles (24-12), and the Wiz were scorching hot from the field (.528), while holding Detroit to .430 FG%. The Wizards won 95-83.
In other news: This was the Gilbert Arenas temper-tantrum game. He was preparing to play. The medical staff didn’t clear him. He said “they” were “messing with his mind.” He didn’t have a blazer to sit on the bench. Arenas stormed out the locker room and said, “Ya’ll don’t have to write anymore. I’m not coming back this season,” to the media. He sped home to get a blazer, thought about driving his car into a lake, was saved by Young Jeezy, and Gilbert wrote a blog entry about his “ordeal.”
Wizards @ Detroit – April 11, 2008
The Pistons simply blew out the Wizards 102-74. Detroit shot 50%, had 28 assists to the Wizards 12. Jason Maxiell had a career high 28 points, his next highest scoring amount is 19. Caron Butler went 1-7 from the field.
In other news: Gilbert Arenas was 2-8 in 19 minutes. Detroit had a very strong 3rd quarter, the Wiz were only down 47-42 at the half. The Wizards only shot 27.1% for the game.
