Brendan Haywood Tries To Figure Out Blogs

Updated: May 12, 2009

Brendan Haywood and Gilbert Arenas, Bloggers - flickr/Keith AllisonBlogging ain’t easy. Just ask Gilbert Arenas, who stopped his contributions to ‘Agent Zero: The Blog File’ on (so he says) because blogging turned into a “double-edged sword.”

Now, a newbie to web-logging his thoughts, Brendan Haywood, is just trying to get his feet wet and learn the ropes.

In his first post on Yard Barker, Haywood threw some digs in LeBron James’ direction, saying “I think we all know that anytime you touch LeBron James, you’re going to be sent to the showers! You accidentally bump into him and you’re going to be “rub-a-dub-dubbing” in the locker room bathtub!”

For more of my thoughts on the subject, you can head to NBC Washington, “Haywood Tired of LeBron’s Superstar Treatment.”

But just as we were digesting the initial post by Haywood made only yesterday, Yard Barker is sending out email alerts that BTH has posted another blog entry today. Huh? Guess the guy is full steam ahead with his contract year media campaign.

Naturally I immediately checked it out, hoping for more insults hurled towards LeBron, or some insights on Flip Saunders in the least. Here’s what I got:

“Thanks for all of the love and support from everyone who’s read my first blog! I’ll be back very soon blogging about a ton of new topics!

Uhh Brendan, this is a “comment” more appropriate as a follow-up on your first post, and NOT an entirely new blog entry.

But alas, we can’t blame Brendan Todd too much for not being well-versed in the best practices of blogging geekdom, we can only appreciate that he’s joined the party in the first place.

That, and he committed the fatal fail of blogging by referring to a post as a “blog.”
