Well sir, you had me until "corpse of Darius Songaila" ... I loved that guy!

He was the perfect role player ... it's just that he was asked to do waaaaay more than what he was capable of, and never complained.

But yes, Haywood ... I've always found his offense to be a tad robotic, justifying him not being a focal point.

However, I get the feeling he's been working very hard over the summer ... and doesn't just want to play hard to earn a new contract.

I can't wait to see what he's got.

I'm glad to see some one other than myself praising Brendan. Now I don't feel like suck a homer when I defend him to fans of other teams. All to often statistical production overshadows intangible effects that players have on a team, and I have always started my defense of players like Brendan by mentioning that. One more thing I will add. Since he has been a wizard Brendan has never been a focal point offensively, he has always had other players prioritized before him, and I truly believe that with the logjam we had down low no longer an issue he could be in line for another breakout year in 09-10. Oh and kudos to ernie for finding a way to get rid of the corpse of Darius Songaila now if we can just do the same with Mike James I might attend some games this year.

It pains me to do it, but I have to agree that Haywood is in the top 10 of NBA centers.

Perhaps if he weren't such a clueless jerk...
