Back from the whirlwind of Washington Wizards media day ’09 and ready to blog it out. With much to transcribe, I’ll have a lot more in the future, but I wanted to get to something of utmost importance first, DeShawn Stevenson’s new tattoos.
(No, I don’t think this is really of the ‘utmost’ importance, but definitely the quickest/easiest/most fun to blog about.)
What does Abe Lincoln have to do with all this? Well, his face is one of Stevenson’s new tats … and it’s right on the front of his neck (jeez that seems painful), always looking right back at you.
Stevenson also has a backwards Pittsburgh Pirates logo on his right cheek and a Frankenstein-esque crack starting at his hairline and working its way down his forehead (not sure what happens if his hairline starts receding).
Mike Jones of the Washington Times has more:
On his left cheek bone is inked the Pitsburgh Pirate’s ‘P’, “for the Pittsburgh, that’s my favorite team. Barry Bonds, when he first started.” The thing about the P is, however, that it’s backwards and looks more like a 9. DeShawn tried to explain, “No, if you’re standing where Dom’s standing and looking at me, it looks like a P.” Dominic McGuire was standing directly in front of him about 10 yards away, but it still looked like a 9. I think DeShawn meant to say, “when I look in the mirror it looks like a P.” The final new tat is a crack on the left side of Stevenson’s forehead. He said it’s because “I don’t crack. I feel like people always try to break me, but I don’t crack. So, I put that there.”

@ohshefancyhuh http://bit.ly/2rkys smh and I heard the crack on his forehead is cuz he cracks but doesnt break under pressure…

“My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it…” — Abraham Lincoln
Quit deifying a tyrant because he did one REALLY GREAT and JUST thing…he locked up hundreds of NORTHERN newspapper people, had their newspapers seized and destroyed, he banished an Ohio Congressman, he implimented unConstitutional taxes to fund a TOTALLY avoidable war (no other Western nation, in the East or Wast himishperes, fought a Civil War over slavery, yet abolished it abruptly…no 650,000 Americans of all colors needed to die to fix what the Supremem Copurt of Cowards refused to).
The Emancipation Proclamation NEVER freed slaves in territories the North controlled, it freed them in territories they DID NOT control, to use slave revolts as a tactic…the very tactic John Brown was hanged for right before the Civil War. It DID NOT free the slaves, it was a war tactic (and an illegal one at that, not that I’m against the tactic per se, but it is illegal). He could of, but didn’t, freed ALL the slaves in Northern controlled territories. He ON PURPOSE did not free those slaves. The Emancipation Proclamation is the most under-read document in history, next to maybe the Constitution itself (which Lincoln violated flippantly).
This tatoo on his neck shows how much a college athlete’s education is worth…NOTHING.
You tatooed a racist on your neck, good job.
Try reading history and learning what really happened…instead of deifying men for doing less than courageous or moral things.
Slavery and the treatment of African-Americans was WRONG. That doesn’t mean you should deify the tyranny of Lincoln to lay cover for the only thing he did that was right (free the slaves).
If I kill someone to save your life, when I could of just knocked them out, I’m a murderer, not a hero. The fact I saved you is besides the historical fact I would be a murderer.
The foolishness of people who deify Lincoln is astounding…and to get such a tatoo shows another athlete did little educating of themselves in school. Why not a John Brown tatto? He was a hero and a terrorist…but at least he didn’t EVER consider leaving blacks slaves.
This is just sad, and emblematic of our countries education system, and our government’s lies perpetuated by STATE schools (STATE schools have a vested interest in deifying statists).
“I am not now, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social or political equality of the white and black races. I am not now nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor of intermarriages with white people. There is a physical difference between the white and the black races which will forever forbid the two races living together on social or political equality. There must be a position of superior and inferior, and I am in favor of assigning the superior position to the white man.” — Abraham Lincoln
“…whatever negroes can be got to do as soldiers, leaves just so much less for white soldiers to do…” — Abraham Lincoln
Lincoln was a racist, white supremecist, statist, tyrant.
