Well Mike #2, I'm glad we can be of entertainment to you ...

But c'mon bro, don't start acting like you're the Lakers or the Celtics ... or even compare yourselves to the Steelers ...

For Christ's Sake! You guys haven't even won an NBA championship!! ...

And you're quite high on your horse calling others "pathetic" when you could very well lose LeBron next Summer.

Haha wizards fans are pathetic. I read your blogs and analysis of wiz/cavs games for the laughs. I mean really why can't you just admit that the cavs>wizards?? it's not that hard. We did it with browns vs. Pittsburg.haha. I don't see ANY other team in the league that complains more than you do. The Cleveland crabdribblers??? *shaking head*

Come on, Brendan Haywood is known for getting into early foul trouble. Shouldn't be much of a surprise to a Wiz blogger.

I agree the refs were terrible Tuesday night, but it went both ways. Still can't believe they called a foul on Mo Williams when Shaq floored Mike Miller. Mo never touched the guy and the whistle was waaaay late. Bad job all around by the refs.

But if you want to examine why the Wizards lost that game, question why Arenas and Butler continued to jack up contested shots from the outside instead of getting their teammates involved.

Well Mike .. I certainly would have done a full evaluation if I got paid to do so.

And for what it's worth, at one point during the game, I did Twitter or comment somewhere that both sides were arguing a lot of calls and wondered if it was due to bad refereeing or a heated rivalry.

So yea, I'm not in denial that there weren't any bad calls in favor of the Wizards ... my simple point as a Wizards blogger is that those two fouls really hurt Brendan Haywood/the team.

I admire the homework, I really do. But a full evaluation of the officiating Tuesday night would have led to the discovery of a dozen phantom calls.

There were plenty of blown foul calls, incorrect assessments of who touched the ball last on out-of-bounds plays, and the like. The officiating was bad on Tuesday. But while it may have affected the Wizards more, I don't think the mistakes were particularly more egregious against the Wizards.

@ Scott

I certainly didn't ... as I don't gamble on sports in real life, unless I'm in Vegas.

Boy did the Wiz come out horrible against the Heat ... pretty much the exact opposite of how they came out against the Cavs.

Disappointing to say the least.

Rick, I want you to go back and read three sentences:

>> Most of the fouls were just, some not so much.

>> Still, despite some very questionable calls, this one wasn’t on the refs.

>> I chronicled the 12 fouls called on Wizards bigs in the first half to determine if they were legit, questionable/ticky-tack, or B.S.

-----

Now, I take it you are not arguing with any of my 12 call assessment and rather, decided to give the final foul/FT stats.

Ok, that's fair -- but then you are failing to objectively see the point of my post ... which is... The early fouls, two of which were particularly egregious against the Wizards' STARTING center, threw the Wizards out of wack.

I then went on to outline how the Wizards' biggest concern was their own inability to handle adversity (Cleveland coming back, etc.) and NOT fouls.

-------

Other items of note:

In the first half, I believe the Cavs were whistled for 11 fouls, the Wizards 18 ... this clearly was evened out during the course of the game.

Objectivity? C'mon brah ... I'm a Wizards blogger.

So, you are basically complaining about two fouls out of twelve? And the Wizards were whistled for a grand total of 2 more fouls than the Cavs during the game. (27-25) Washington also took 41 free throws compared to Cleveland's 27. But the refs were obviously biased.

While you may not have been anxious to write this post, I was to.. read your take.

After watching the game I was anxious to make a mixtape of all the questionable calls. (Didn't because wiz/cavs were blackedout on nba.com league pass broadband)

What frustrated me and was hard for the wizards to overcome was the discrepency. LEBRON had zero fouls, btw. The one time they almost assigned him a foul was a late whistle on missed gilbert layup, and they assigned it to the nearest cav to lebron.

Andray's blatch charge call was atrocious. He was hit with a charge after passing the ball on a fast break, he didn't lower his shoulder, land on someone, appear out of control and the defender was in motion, not even attempting to set up. (4th quarter). Mike Miller previous got hit with a blocking foul trying to draw a charge (his left foot was moving, for balance sake when the contact occured.

Mike Miller also clearly/blantantly/wisely fouled shooting a buzzer beater to end the third quarter and all three officials swallowed their whistle. their was still a quarter to go, but I think it would have been wise to get a technical there and force the issue for the 4th quarter.

NBA fans in general I don't think mind the inconsistency of calls, from game to game, but it really rips the heart out of a team, when what constitutes as a foul is still unclear after three quarters, or depends if you are wearing an away jersey.

Home court advantage is supposed to come from the fans, home cooking, less travel fatigue, not the striped officials, who's calls are reviewed, and rated, but not transparent to the media/fans. I happened to watch the fourth quarters of the clippers vs minnesota the night before (clippers got their first win) the refs decided that game too with calls that seemed very inconsistent.

the only call that questionably went Wizards way was a clear path to the basket that was in the LANE??? i didn't think that call could be made, should have been an and 1 opportunity but two shots and the ball not necessarily better off and the game was out of reach at that point in the 4th quarter.
