Very nice post. After reading this and going back and reading his draftexpress profiles from college, I have to wonder what his path might have been like had he been more selfish from the beginning. He sacrificed by playing out of (nba) position while in college. He apparently didn't grab the scoring stats he perhaps could have gotten. Had he done those things differently, maybe he would have had a higher profile coming out, and started out on an nba roster.

I hope things work out for him this way.

It was obvious Cartier was good when he was playing at K-State, and I remember being pretty frustrated that he didn't try to take over games more frequently.

He definitely seems like the consummate role player, which can be good or bad, almost like a smaller Lamar Odom. Martin isn't going to explode on offense(or if he does, it will be just often enough to leave you scratching your head), but he takes what the other team gives him.
