First … Josh Howard is back in D.C.! Michael Lee of the Washington Post reports the details, and Mike Prada puts down some thoughts on the signing at Bullets Forever. I’ll have some more in-depth thoughts soon … but until then, I’ll say I love the move (especially at $4 million for one year).

Second … 17th pick Kevin Seraphin has signed with the Wizards after a buyout agreement was reached with his team in the French pro basketball league.

Joe Glorioso of Wizards Extreme wonders where Gilbert Arenas has been and thinks that Arenas should be making a public apology to the DMV during this basketball dead period. I’d have to agree.

By now you’ve heard of the story about LeBron James by ESPN’s Arash Markazi which surfaced yesterday, but evidently was not supposed to be published to If not, then both Trey Kerby of Yahoo!’s Ball Don’t Lie and Matt Moore of CBS’s NBA Facts & Rumors can fill you in with some details and commentary.

Bethlehem Shoals has a good take on the LeBron “story” … if you want to call it that.

And while you’re at it, might as well check out a dramatization of LeBron partying in Vegas from The Basketball Jones.

The best Tweet to arise out of all this comes from Jake Whitacre of SB Nation DC and Bullets Forever (@jakewhitacre):

LeBron’s thoughts on Eric Spoelstra coaching the Heat: “I wish they’d have one of these girls with no panties do that instead of this guy.”

Doc Funk writes in regard to the Markazi article:

We learned that Maverick sits at the head of the table, even if that table also seats LeBron James and Chris Paul.
We learned that Maverick finds the top 25% of a bottle of Grey Goose to be so unpalatable that he pours it on the ground.
Lastly, we learned that Maverick will often dance around James like a totem-pole. Presumably, this is how Maverick earns his allowance.

This year wasn’t the first time LeBron and his cohorts made a “decision” and were considered “traitors.”

Dude in a Miami Heat LeBron James jersey goes to a Cleveland Indians game, tries to heckle Cleveland fans, gets thrown out of game.

Bloggers in the TrueHoop Network composed their offers for Chris Paul and sent them to Ryan Schwan of Hornets 24/7 for judgment. Mine didn’t even get considered.

A story about former Wizard God Shammgod … I knew him as Shammgod Wells from when I saw him play in high school (at Gonzaga’s D.C. Classic), but didn’t know that he had to stick with his legal name, God Shammgod, when he got to Providence. Also, Shammgod says the Olympics really changed the landscape in China … to the point where he wants to return there to play basketball.

Keep working on that jumper Josh …
