The Washington Wizards New Look & Feel Unveiled

The Washington Wizards unveiled their new look and feel on Tuesday during an event held on the team’s practice court. The feedback on the fresh gear has been universally positive and hardly anyone is showing remorse for the Wizard man logo dying a slow death. While I am more concerned about the team avoiding another bottom five NBA finish for a fourth straight season, I understand the significance of the franchise moving the brand into a modern direction with the Monumental ownership group. The red, white and blue colors will hopefully provide the tormented fan-base a much needed boost.

The following video contains footage of the debut, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis’ comments on the change, Jordan Crawford’s feelings about the uniforms, and an assessment from fans buying new merchandise at the team store on the day of the unveiling. Enjoy.

[Apologies to the fan whose name and info I was unable to gather.]

That’s MUCH BETTER. Kudos to the organization formeraly Known as the Bullets for going back to their roots. All teams in the US capital are red white and blue, as they should be.

They should just make the ball their logo, it’s retro but still cool. The name wizards suck anyway. Might as well change that and get rid of Dumbeldore.

You know I’m not a fan of the ball/monument logo. It looks kind if blah to me. But I love the DC logo with the hand. And yes, dumbledore needs to disappear.

At 4:16 into this video, I saw the reflection of two people walking in the glass of one of the DC designs, and mistook it for being a reflection in my own monitor; two people standing behind me. As I am home alone at 10:30 at night with no reason for a visitor, I assumed it was two people who had been sent to kill me and was scared shitless for .5 seconds. Yikes!

Great video though, and even better new team colors/jerseys/etc. Here’s hoping tomorrow night brings us a top 2 pick.
