Jan Vesely said WHAT? Czech Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself

Airwolf Vesely doing an interview with Basketmag.

No need denying that Jan Vesely’s Czech language interviews are a treat for me (and hopefully for you, too). He always seems to share lots of golden nuggets from the world of Wizards. In a lengthy June interview with Czech Basketmag titled, “Boozer always he blows me away,” there was a lot of the same stuff Vesely already mentioned in earlier interviews after the regular season. But, it’s not a Jan Czech interview without some money quotes (also seen via my @Luke_Mellow Twitter feed):

[Note: On Monday, Jan told TAI: "If the coaches want to put me at small forward, that’s up to them,” countered Vesely on Monday. “But, I’m happy at power forward, and I think it’s a good position, and I will do my best at that position."]

From the short videos on the official Wizards website, and thanks to Kyle Weidie‘s efforts, we had a chance to see improvement during the team’s mini-camp; Jan’s jumper appears more consistent, indeed. He even regularly connected on pick-and-pops with his buddy Tomas Satoransky. We’ll see how he performs in Las Vegas Summer League—the Wizards’ first game is Friday against the Atlanta Hawks. I say Randy Wittman should give him some time at small forward in these SL games, considering the Wizards roster now includes five quality big men (Trevor Booker, Nene, Emeka Okafor, Kevin Seraphin, and Vesely), and only so many minutes of playing time.

ONE QUESTION ASKED, who on the Wizards the best looking, hottest girlfriend.
Excluding his girlfriend/fiancee, Eva Kodouskova, Jan said it’s Nene’s girlfriend/wife.

On the Gilbert Arenas gun incident:
“Guys make fun of that sometimes, but only in the locker-room, not in public.”

Do the Wizards poke fun at JaVale McGee’s bloopers?
Jan’s answer (as he chuckles) is positive.

And last but not least, if you’re interested in what Jan’s sweetheart, Eva, has been up to lately … her team, Sparta Prague, didn’t move up to the highest division of women’s basketball in the Czech Republic; however, just a couple of weeks back her streetball team, the Flying Bucks, won the Prague Streetball League. Congrats, girl!
