Wizards-Bulls Game 5 Watch Party: Tuesday Night, D.C., #WizardsTwitter
Considering it has been six odious years since the Washington Wizards have appeared in the postseason, a bunch of us blogger-types figured it was long overdue for us to watch a game together. With the Wiz on the verge of closing out the Bulls in Chicago, Game 5 on Tuesday night is a perfect opportunity for followers of this team to gather up in person. There is definitely a vibrant community on #WizardsTwitter and in various online comment sections. This gives us a chance to meet these all these avatars we swap characters with throughout the year. I know, actual human contact, in 2014? WHOA! Crazy concept even for us smartphone, social media-addicted denizens. (An appearance by The Wizznutzz would be legendary, but word is they get lost easily when traveling south of Wheaton, MD.)
Our friends at Bullets Forever, Wizards Xtra, and Hoop District have joined with us to help promote the night and align our Wiz forces. Public Bar in Dupont Circle has agreed to host, and they feature one of the largest TV projector screens in the city. There will be sound, and drink and food deals. Wiz fan Chris Williams will be taking care of us at the main bar. This is a helluva better occasion for a bar outing than the previous one we threw together last May for the NBA Draft Lottery. Although, it should be noted: the evening was fun and successful with the Wiz jumping up to the No.3 overall draft spot. Otto Porter, anyone?
Otherwise, #WittmanFaces will be expected, celebratory Nae Nae dances might be encouraged, and while there will be no judging for tweeting with this group (Wifi is available), any #SoWizards mentions will be frowned upon. I am going to be wearing a Bullets hat and a Bao Bao T-shirt (for Bradley “Big Panda” Beal). Oh, feel free to drop an “Excuse Me” to the Mr. Truth About It boss man, Kyle Weidie.

May 6, 2005 (Bulls) and April 22, 1982 (Nets) are the last two days the Washington pro basketball franchise has came out victorious in a playoff series over the past three decades. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 might be the next one. Come join us in polishing off some adult beverages, and these damn Bulls.
