My name is Rashad Mobley and I have been a Washington Bullets/Wizards fan since 1987. From Steve Colter, to Bernard King to Michael Adams, to Webber/Howard/Strickland, to Gilbert Arenas and now to John Wall I’ve experienced just about every emotion there is to feel when following a sports team–except the elation that comes with winning a title. That’s coming soon I hope.
From 1987-2007, I was simply a fan(atic) of the Bullets/Wizards. I would talk to friends and family about the team, and analyze them from afar, but the concept of writing down my thoughts and views for all to see really never dawned on me. Then in 2007, Rashad decided to finally step his game up, give 110% and take this talents to the World Wid Web. I joined the basketball site, Hoops Addict, obtained media credentials, and for three years I covered the NBA, but mainly focused on covering the Wizards. I attended 95% of their home games, interviewed countless players, and I got a chance to put that 20 years of fandom to good use.
During that time I interviewed every Wizards player who has been on the roster the past three years, I was on a conference call with Magic Johnson and Larry Bird and interviewed my hero, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. I have also appeared on KRNU Radio at the University of Nebraska, Fox Sports Radio, and most importantly Truth About It.
Kyle was nice enough to accept me on his site in July 0f 2010, and I hope to bring that same passion I brought as a fan and a writer with Hoops Addict, to the Truth About It/True Hoop family. Well I cannot promise you that you’ll agree with everything I write, I can promise you that I will do my very best to convince you to do just that. I love encouragement but I can appreciate a good, old-fashioned argument as well.
