Kiss Cam hijinks have been covered before…..and usually the victim(s) from the visiting team treat their infamy with a smile and a wave.
But not Nate Robinson and Al Harrington of the New York Knicks, who seem to be enjoying themselves a little too much….(insert your own “hey boys, get a room” zinger).
Poor Anthony Roberson, he gets no love.

Q1
11:23: David Lee gets on board for the Knicks as they move the ball well while Andray Blatche flounders around the paint, quizzically pointing fingers at lost defensive assignments. 2-2.
11:09: Blatche, however, scores the first four points of the game….the latter pair coming on a nice behind the back dribble and pull up on Lee who gave him too much space.
It’s nice to see confidence from Andray, but I see two big problems with him: 1) being able to keep up with the energy/hustle of David Lee, and 2) lack of concentration.
8:44: Nice NY ball movement from a driving Lee to a moving Jared Jeffries leaves Blatche’s head hanging. 11-9 Wizards.

Not to say the Washington Wizards aren’t already a punch-line among NBA circles, but how long until NBA-oblivious Ma and Pa Kettle are watching the last days of Jay Leno as he screeches out a joke in a sporadic high tone involving approval ratings and the names of George W. Bush and Eddie Jordan? Or hearing a Letterman quip about finding the Wizards mascot in a Chinatown alley, beaten and battered, covered in “Change We Can Believe In” bumper stickers, only to find out the assault was staged by G-Wiz himself?
On vacation and visiting family, Saturday was a good day. I witnessed my alma mater prevail in a football-basketball double header, was able to catch-up with friends unseen in years, and spent time with my dad. I had illusions of re-watching the Wizards-Knicks game on Sunday, hoping to see a team coming together, taking advantage of a depleted New York squad. But as I’ve
previously written, expectations on a game-by-game basis are nil. So upon seeing the final score scroll across the ESPN ticker, another Wizards blunder had no chance of ruining my day.

Damn Steph…..why the long face? Oh, yea…D’Antoni has you out on an island, and I don’t mean Strong Island, or even Coney Island.
But man, this picture of you in the huddle in DC against the Wizards is flat-out depressing. I feel for you son. Coach won’t put you on the active roster, much less play you. You wanna practice with your old high school team to stay in shape, but the Knicks won’t even let you.
The crack has dried up, you can no longer be excited about Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry, you say you want to buy the Knicks one day, and even you don’t know what you’re smoking anymore.
I’m not even sure why you’re even traveling with the team Starbury……guess it’s gotta be done if you expect to keep collecting that $1.8 million paycheck every other week. The NBA: Where Amazing Happens. Read more »
Yep, that’s how I feel today.
Unexpectedly went to the Wizards-Knicks game last night (big ups to my friend Rob who called with the extra ticket….ups also to Rob’s friend Jo(h)n, from whom Rob got the ticket)….took a bunch of pictures, drank some Crown & Cokes, have some thoughts.
I’ll get a game blogish/defensive analysis up on Bullets Forever later (home game blogs are on BF this season, you’ll find the away games here on Truth About It), but until then, I wanted to get up a post on the best game recaps from around the web.

The Wizards only played the Knicks three times during the 07-08 season, and lost twice to a New York team that only finished with 23 wins on the year. Here’s what happened (after the pic):
- Game 37: Wizards @ New York Knicks – Jan. 15, 2008
Antonio Daniels had a sore knee so Roger Mason Jr. got the starting nod, and he did not disappoint, knocking down 8 of 14 shots for 20 points. But as they have the propensity to do, the Wizards got off to a bad start, down 30-14 after one quarter…..perhaps it was the empty airplane hanger-like atmosphere in the Garden. Behind a strong 2nd quarter where “I Get Buckets Son” hit three 3s, the Wiz were down 51-41 at the half. After three, the Knick lead was cut to 5. But in the end, the Wizards were out rebounded, out assisted, out shot, and looked worn down after coming off amazing back-to-back wins against the Celtics. Jamal Crawford torched the Wiz for 29 points en route to a 105-93 New York win over Washington.
- Game 38: Washington Wizards vs. Knicks – Jan. 18, 2008
So, three days later, the Wiz got their shot at redemption in the confines of the Verizon Center. The first quarter ended with both teams scoring in bunches, and shooting over 63%; the Knicks held the lead 32-28. In the 2nd quarter, Caron Butler showed some hustle swag to put the Wiz up 61-57 at the half. Washington built their lead to 12 at the end of 3 with solid defense by DeShawn Stevenson on Jamal Crawford, and some strong contributions from Big Oily, Oleksiy Pecherov, off the bench. The Knicks cut the Wizards lead to 4 early in the 4th, but Caron Butler (22 points), Antawn Jamison (32 points), and the bench (30 points) ensured the win for the Wizards, 111-98 over the Knicks.

Jeff from CelticsBlog.com is doing the grunt work to put together a comprehensive NBA preview from bloggers ’round the ‘sphere. The complete Atlantic Division Preview is out. Here are the highlights from the participating bloggers for each team:
Boston Celtics
[Celtics Blog]
The East is getting better, so I feel like the bad teams will lose less and the good teams will win less, but the Celtics should still be good for the best record in the East. Prediction: 59-23
[Green Bandwagon]
Last year I laughably predicted the Celtics would win 49 games. Translation: I’m not too good at this. Meanwhile, Chicago, Cleveland, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto, and the Eastern Conference in general should be better. Factor in James Posey’s departure, the question marks on Boston’s bench, and concerns about whether or not the Celtics will have the same fire and drive, and it is reasonable to expect fewer wins. Prediction: 58 – 24

Continuing with the theme of throwing NBA veterans against the wall to see what sticks (previously, Darius Miles, Bonzi Wells and Juan Dixon were tossed)…..what about Allan Houston on the Washington Wizards?
Slam lead me to a Newsday blog entry about Houston contemplating yet another return to the game at the age of 37. This time, he’s trying to get a jump on the attempt, instead of pursuing a comeback in the midst of training camp as he did last year. Houston says that he and his agent have been in contact with “a couple” teams, but won’t have a better idea of which ones until after Labor Day.
So, this begs the question, would he work for the Wizards?
The consensus seems to be that the Wiz need a backup for Caron Butler, and that if they sign any player at all, it should probably be a veteran with the savvy to make an immediate contribution on the court and in the locker room.

Truth is down in Argentina ‘seeing about a girl’ so I’m taking the reigns tonight. First things first I should preempt this post by saying I’m a die hard hockey fan and casual NBA fan. To prove this point I’m tuning in late in the 3rd quarter to watch this to the end.
My bad Truth, this late start won’t happen again.
3rd Quarter 5:00 min. left
NY 61 Wiz 66
They just mentioned that this is the 60th anniversary of the Harlem Globetrotters beating the Lakers…..I can’t imagine this feat ever happening again.
David Lee with a nice steal and awkward dribble down the floor. He’s then fouled and blows the dunk, misses the free throw, gets rebound, turns it over, gets it back and dishes to Jones who misses the dunk. My first thought is that we cannot lose to this team.
The Wizards have limped into the second half but it looks like they are getting Arenas and Thomas back soon. The question is…How does Eddie Jordan ease these guys back into the mix?

So yea, I was making fun of LeBron’s penchant for the New York Yankees in a previous post, “LeBron James Lobbies to Get New York Yankees Logo Added to the Quicken Loans Arena Court.”
But would LBJ really bolt to the Big Apple?
Well, my boy AJ and I had a little gmail exchange about it….like to hear it go:
AJ:
