Washington Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld announced today that forward Antawn Jamison’s right shoulder has been re-evaluated and that the findings were consistent with the original diagnosis of a subluxation. He is expected to miss from four to six weeks from the date of the injury (Jamison sustained the injury in the Wizards’ 109-104 win in Cleveland on Oct. 14).
Honestly, I kinda expected this to be the case … especially when a shoulder briefly pops out of place. Better to be safe than sorry I guess.
Flip Saunders said he would probably start Fabricio Oberto tonight against the Bulls so that Andray Blatche can get used to his role of coming off the bench … wonder if this now changes the plan.

I’m a huge Antawn Jamison fan. He’s a classy dude, I’ve nicknamed him ‘The Gentlemen’ (hasn’t caught on), and the women folk say he’s got eyebrows for days.
Jamison is the current patriarchal cornerstone of the franchise. This year’s team MVP? Unquestionably. He possesses the never-quit attitude that should be infecting the locker room via leadership by example … Jamison is quite the opposite of past clubhouse cancers, like Christian Laettner.
But sometimes, everyone needs to be questioned, Jamison being no exception.
1) What’s with the defense? 2) Will Antawn be flexible in his future role with the team?

Not only did D-Song go off with an 8-9 FG, 19 point performance against the T-Wolves, but those stats are from his last TEN games.
Before the All-Star break, Darius “Dirty” Songaila played in 52 games, starting 10, and dropped 6.1 ppg on 50% shooting. In the 11 games since the break, all starts, he is draining 65.9% of his shots and scoring 11.5 points per.
Well, to go from partying in DC one night, to this the next. Ahh, the life of an NBA baller on a sucky team.
Well, at least Andray Blatche has that $2,739,669 he’s making this year…..with $9,780,992 coming over the next three years.
But sheesh (pulls at collar), that Nuggets game got ugly fast. The Wiz had a seven point lead midway through the first quarter, but that lasted about the time it takes to microwave a burrito.
Dunk after dunk after dunk later, the Wizards were left with a 21 point loss that seemed closer than the game actually was.

I take this as one of two ways: either Jamison is making a not so subtle dig at the antics of Gilbert Arenas, or he is highlighting the fact that he puts on his helmet, grabs his lunch pail, and simply shows up to work everyday…..nothing more, nothing less. And since Jamison is not the type to be braggadocios about his workhorse mentality (which seems intrinsically wrong anyway), I’m going with the former.
Maybe Rodney Stuckey’s foul on a driving Antawn Jamison was a just call, maybe it wasn’t. But in Antonio McDyess’ opinion, a missed FT means that the ‘ball don’t lie’ no matter the case.
When will these Pistons stop assuming the reasons behind what the ball do and don’t do? Sure AJ bricked it, but I know one thing that never lies…….Score, Board. (yes, a fan of a 4-15 team talking trash)
This was another game where some “little things” killed the Wizards. I hesitate to get too wrapped up in these little things because every team, good and bad, commits such minuscule errors each game. However, it’s the quantity of these errors which are the differentiators between winning and losing.
I do like the fact that the Wizards tried hard and simply did not give up when down 20 in the 3rd quarter, and even down 19 with under nine minutes left in the 4th. This team should be setting a tone by continuing to try hard for the rest of this season, no matter the record. Losing is bad enough, but what you do not want to do is to create a culture of not caring about losses. So, people should stop all this talk about tanking or throwing in the towel, not the environment we want to create.
Like many, I was surprised, but not necessarily shocked. It wasn’t until that night, as I sat in the Superdome for a great Monday night showdown between the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers, full of raw oysters, crab legs and Ketel-tonics, that it really hit me.
“Sh*t!,” I randomly said aloud. (well, random to those around, but not to me)
“What’s wrong….what happened?,” my dad quickly replied.
